In this debut episode of the ‘Where People Meet’ podcast, we decided to kick things off by bringing on an incredibly special guest who is considered to be one of the pioneers in the worldwide meetings and events industry. In 1997, Corbin Ball left his career as Head of Conference Operations at SPIE (the International Society for Optical Engineering) to form his own speaking, consulting and writing firm focusing exclusively on event technology, exhibitions and meeting venues. He was the first person to do this full-time and is now recognized as one of the biggest names in event technology!
With years of extensive experience under his belt, Corbin sat down to answer a few questions about how he came to be where he is today, and to discuss the evolution of the events industry in relation to how it adapted to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Corbin talks in depth about the state of the event tech space pre-pandemic, how the pandemic impacted event technology, and what he believes the future will be for event technology going forward.
